Our mission in the purebred Charolais industry is to produce functional seedstock that focuses on ease of calving, performance and longevity in both the females and bulls we produce. Our goal is to provide superior breeding stock that meets our customer's requirements and surpasses their expectations.
Dogpatch Acres is centrally located in the province near Leroy, Saskatchewan. We are a mixed farm consisting of over 80 purebred Charolais cattle and grain. Presently the farm stretches over 5300 acres of grainland, pasture and hayland. The farm is owned and operated by Michael and Annette Zentner, son Evan and daughter Carley.
"I have been buying Charolais bulls exclusively for the last 10 years. I like the quiet disposition of the bulls. The calves are generally between 90 and 100 lbs., and we have yet to have a C-section! The calves grow fast and really respond to creep. With my red and tan cows I get a lot of tan calves with great hair coats, just what the feedlots are looking for. Michael and Annette have helped me out if I've ever had any problems, and that's worth a lot."
